Environmental Scientist with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney.

Quadruple major in Biology, Environmental Science, Italian Studies, and Studies in Religion.

I am a motivated tutor experienced in helping primary, lower and middle-high school, and university-age students overcome learning obstacles and becoming comfortable with challenging subjects.

Depending on the student's level, I cover a range of subjects:

English - Fundamentals of English grammar, ESL, persuasive writing, reading comprehension, essay/academic writing, language and composition.

Science - Environmental sciences (e.g. biology, ecology, geology) and reading and writing scientific reports.

Geography - World geography, environmental and human studies

Social Science - World history, history of religion, researching and writing papers.

I also offer on-demand essay proofreading and editing services independently of lessons for a fee, which is waived for regularly returning students.

My passion lies in helping my students succeed. To me, this means setting them up to achieve their goals with and eventually without my help by explaining concepts as well as introducing new study skills and trying different strategies. I believe that a positive relationship between student and educator is essential to fostering a successful learning environment. For this reason, I have a compatibility/probationary period of at least two lessons. This is to give both myself and the student an opportunity to get to know each other and to make an informed decision about continuing.

Job experience:

In addition to over five years of private tutoring, I now work full-time as an environmental consultant on a team of professional scientists. I am trusted to write reports for both the public and private sectors, who pay $1000/day for my work. Past and current clients include Willoughby Council, Liverpool City Council, Central Coast Council, Yass Valley Council, and Midcoast Council. I have also worked on projects for the Department of Defence and Transport for NSW. Non-government clients include developers, private landowners, and waste management services. In the course of my work, I regularly communicate with clients and suppliers, applying persuasive writing skills, my knowledge and understanding of science, my ability to communicate difficult scientific concepts effectively, and general people skills at a professional level.

I speak English fluently, and Mandarin, Cantonese, and Italian at elementary levels.

Experience

I am a dedicated and experienced tutor who is passionate about education, and I've helped students from almost every age group and level of education (primary to tertiary). I have experience tutoring a wide range of subjects, including English, EAL, history, science, geography, social science, and general academic writing. I've worked extensively with EAL students between Year 3 and Year 11.

Qualifications
