    A Bit About Me

    Miss Han Tu

    Ipswich - Camira

Experienced, Patient, and Adaptable Maths Tutor For Real Changes

Ipswich tutor in Algebra, Calculus, General Maths, Geometry, Maths, Maths Methods

    Dear readers,

Thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Han and I am currently studying Bachelor of Radiation Therapy at QUT with the goal of becoming a registered radiation therapist and a general practitioner further into the future. Outside of university, I am a medical and dental receptionist, dental assistant, and a passionate tutor with 2 years of formal experience in private settings, teaching students with special learning needs, selective school preparation, public tutoring companies, and Brisbane's top private schools. I am looking for one potentially long-term student, preferably in person at my residence or online, who is looking to get "real" improvements in Maths, whether that is to get into your ideal school, achieve a high ATAR, higher grades, improved confidence, or to find passion and love for this amazing and incredibly creative subject. The "real" improvements that I aim for are not only a measurable increase in your grades, but also an increase in your satisfaction with the subject, with yourself, and with the tough school years ahead.

I became a tutor because I find happiness and meaning in sharing my keen interest for Maths - a seemingly dry and difficult subject - with other students who have already liked Maths or are struggling with getting through the lessons. I too, was once a student of a dedicating tutor, who is the reason for the person I am today thanks to her many lectures on life and learning. Thus, I understand the great responsibility and significance of a good teacher - which I thrive to become as I pay her mottos forward to other students in need. My goal as a tutor is not only to get you your desired results but also making you content with the difficult process of achieving your goals, because after all, results are only the 1% of the very great learning and effort that you will have to put in.

As your tutor, I strive to be your biggest support and believer. There has not been a single student that I deem as "stupid" or "unsalvageable", and even for the ones who firmly hold onto that belief, I have been very fortunate to prove each of them wrong with the amazing works they achieved. My priority is to establish a safe space where students can feel comfortable being themselves and be honest without fear of judgement. This is because I believe that when you are in your element, you will get the most out of learning and receive the best support tailored to you. My priority will not be following exactly with the school programs, but to identify gaps in your knowledge and basics so that we can ensure a strong foundation prior to approaching new, more complex procedures. My students have seen a slower road to success, but that success is almost guaranteed by their strong mathematical basics, hard work, and determination.

I would be the most compatible for students who are at lower year levels, as that allows us more time to build up our understanding, practice, and trust, not only between me and the students but also between me and the parents. For primary aged students, I am looking for parents who are committed to the child's education and are willing to get involved in the student's learning. For middle school aged students and above, I am looking for students who are willing to undertake tutoring themselves rather than it being enforced upon them. Additionally, students who are honest and not shy to communicate when they don't understand or when they have feedback/requests would get the best out of our journey together.

However, the most important criteria that I am looking for is that the student is committed to put at least 3-4 hours of homework a week.

If you are not up to the task, it is totally fine! I understand that we have different commitments, and I truly wish you the best on the things you love doing! If you think we are compatible, please send me an email to tubaohan1105@gmail.com to introduce yourself. Then, we will proceed with a phone call where I can get to know you better; and a free 1 hour online/in-person trial lesson so that you can decide if I am the tutor for you! This is also an opportunity for me to assess whether or not I myself is up to the task, as I will not take students in if I don't think I can make an impact on them. With me, you will have a reliable mentor that commits to being 100% transparent, honest, and helpful. In return, I just want you to be happy and satisfied with yourself.

    Thank you for your attention.
