I am an enthusiastic educator and scientist who established Merry Maps Education in 2015 to create engaging learning activities and to share my love of Science, Nature, Maths and Geography. After working as a scientist for over 20 years and simultaneously doing voluntary work as a tutor, I decided to embrace the new challenges of becoming a classroom teacher. My main aim has been to inspire my students and try to establish Citizen Science projects at schools.
As a classroom teacher in Melbourne for two years during the pandemic, I enjoyed many aspects of remote learning and wanted to continue providing high-quality education to students who couldn’t attend their schools at different times in 2022.
I have now directed my vast experience, passion and knowledge to tutoring. For many years I have successfully tutored children and adults in Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry, helping them to achieve their goals that ranged from adult refugees learning how to communicate better in English to high school students aiming and eventually becoming medical doctors.
Finally, if you are interested in joining ecological studies of the area you live in, and being involved in the process of data collection, analysis and writing up of the results as an educational activity, you are welcome to contact me. I would like to conduct bird and vegetation surveys to answer different ecological questions, and to de-mystify the process of scientific inquiry.
